Who We Are

ACube Systems, founded in 2006, started operations in January 2007.

It was born from the ideas and synergies of Enrico Vidale, Massimiliano Tretene and Libero Moschella, respectively owners of Virtual Works, Soft3 and Alternative Holding Group, three important companies in the Italian alternative IT.

Together with Philippe Ferrucci, who has long been involved in the international Amiga scene, they have decided to join forces in a moment of deep crisis for the Amiga community.

The Amiga community was for a long time orphan of a platform for AmigaOS to run natively, and the only logical answer to this need was a new hardware compatible with the AmigaOS operating system.

Thanks to the know-how and resources of its founders, in addition to the collaboration with Italian and international development teams, ACube Systems has created various products.

The Sam440ep platform was the first PowerPC board completely designed and developed in Italy. And it was a best-seller.

From there the road lead up to the current flagship, the Sam460LE platform, which represents the latest product in the Sam4xx series but which is also the springboard for exciting new developments.

In addition to hardware development, ACube Systems has contributed, and still contributes, to the development and distribution of AmigaOS as well as porting of various Linux distributions and the creation of a special version of MorphOS for Sam460 platform.
